Water Science and Engineering

(An International Journal)

Water Science and Engineering (WSE) is a scientific and technical periodical published in English. The objective of the journal is to strengthen international exchange in academic research on water-related issues. The journal is sponsored by Hohai University, a key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of China, characterized by its expertise in water conservancy. WSE begins publication in 2008 and will be published quarterly, in March, June, September, and December.

WSE accepts original contributions on the latest developments and achievements in water science research and water engineering. Topics broadly include new concepts, theories and methods in the study of the earth’s hydrosphere, the latest trends in the study of such phenomena as rainstorms, flooding and drought and in fields such as water resources, water environment, water ecology, water economics, etc., and new techniques and experience in large-scale water engineering construction such as that associated with river regulation, inter-basin water transfer, hydroelectric energy, ecological restoration, etc. Both short and full-length scientific, technical, and research papers as well as comprehensive reviews and information about academic conferences are welcomed. The journal serves engineers, researchers, managers, and university teachers and students in the fields of water conservancy, hydropower engineering and related disciplines.

WSE is now still in its initial stages. As the founder of the journal, Hohai University gives WSE strong support, and we, the staff of the editorial board, devote ourselves to selecting excellent papers, especially high-level manuscripts reflecting the characteristics of Chinese water science research and water engineering construction, and to making WSE a renowned international periodical. We believe that, with the collaborative efforts of readers, authors and editors, WSE will have significant influence in the fields of water science and water engineering.
